About Kerry

How old were you when you started dancing?

I was 5 when I started dancing, I danced up until I was about 16years old. I then left and tried Irish dancing which I enjoyed and did for a couple of years.

How did you get into dancing?

My mum got me and my brother into dancing (my brother only did it for a few years until he found football)

What is your favourite dance?

My favourite dance is the Viennese Waltz, I have memories of being at competitions when I was young dancing it and feeling like I was flying around the floor. Unfortunately you don’t get to dance it that much now!

Where did you learn to dance?

I learnt to dance at the Western School of Dancing down in Southend.  Ironically, Phil was my teacher at the time.  We were both much younger back then!

Who has influenced you the most in the dance world?

Phil has probably been the one to influence me the most in dancing. I still have fond memories of his lessons when I was small. It was also a random message to him at Chelmsford dance that got me back into dancing three years ago now!

Have you ever considered a different career?

I am actually a registered nurse who now works mostly in Accident and Emergency. It’s a job I have done for 13years and I absolutely love it. At the moment I am able to nurse full time and fit it my dancing around it, which is great. Dancing is like therapy for me, I can have a busy or demanding few shifts at work, dance for an hour and feel so much better.

What is your guilty pleasure ( food wise! )?

Food wise I love Pizza...

What do you like to do in your spare time?

In my spare time, I love spending time with my family and friends.
