Our resident Modern Sequence teacher!

I started dancing at the age of 4. Like most little girls, I took classes in ballet & tap. I gave this up aged 13 & began Ballroom & Latin American classes at the age of 15. I learned the basics and took some amateur medals. My work prevented me from continuing dance when I reached the age of 18 and I did not come back to dancing for many years. In 2007 my partner & joined a dance class in Brentwood & I realised just how much I loved to dance. We began attending social events and added Modern Sequence to the Ballroom & Latin American. In 2010 we changed dance schools and I started taking medals again. The new school did not teach Modern Sequence, and so I began teaching this in 2015, after acquiring some medals dancing lead. I currently hold GB2 dancing as  male & GS2 as female

I have a love of all dance and was influenced by ballet which I find to be the most elegant form of dance. If I had to pick a favorite to dance, I would have to say Ballroom is Viennese Waltz & Latin American is Paso Doble.

In April 2018 I took voluntary early retirement from my career as an insurance underwriter and decided it was time to fulfill my ambition to become a dance teacher. I am therefore currently studying for my professional qualifications whilst continuing to teach Modern Sequence.

When not dancing, I have a love of animals, in particular, my 5 rough collies and my little Havanese dog. For some time I was heavily involved in dog shows, but as the dogs have aged, we don’t do much of this now. I also enjoy taking the dogs on holidays in my touring caravan with my partner (both on & off the dance floor) Colin. I am a rehoming officer for Collie rescue.
