What a fantastic afternoon for Chelmsford Dance Centre at our away team match against Southend Dance Centre! Our dancers truly made us proud, showing skill, determination, and amazing sportsmanship throughout the day.
But this event was about so much more than just competition—it was a celebration of the unique and unbreakable bond between our two schools. The connection between Chelmsford Dance Centre and Southend Dance Centre runs deep, woven into the very fabric of our histories. Phil, our principal, trained both Brett and Sally as children, nurturing their early passion for dance and guiding them through their formative years. When Brett and Sally began their own teaching careers, Phil was there once again, supporting and mentoring them as they stepped into the world of dance education. It’s no wonder that the spirit of friendship, respect, and camaraderie between our schools is so strong—you can see it in every interaction, every shared smile, and every word of encouragement exchanged between our dancers.
This enduring friendship between CDC and SDC is something truly special, and it’s a legacy that continues to shape both schools. The warmth and respect between our teams filters down to every pupil, creating an atmosphere where everyone feels welcome, supported, and inspired to do their best. It’s not just about winning or losing; it’s about growing together, learning from one another, and celebrating each other’s successes.
Our CDC juveniles and juniors were absolutely outstanding, both winning their team matches with style and confidence. The adult team fought a brave battle, narrowly missing out on victory but showing true grit, commitment, and a wonderful sense of sportsmanship. Our juvenile competitors pulled off an incredible feat, achieving an all-CDC final and claiming the top six places! The juniors were nearly as impressive, taking the top five positions and making us all beam with pride.
The atmosphere throughout the day was electric. CDC children cheered each other on, supporting their teammates and the adults every step of the way. Their behaviour was exemplary—so much so that it was noticed and praised by the principal of another school, a testament to the values we hold dear at CDC.
Events like these remind us that dance is about more than steps and routines; it’s about community, friendship, and the joy of sharing what we love with others. The partnership between Chelmsford Dance Centre and Southend Dance Centre is a shining example of how two schools can be both friendly rivals and the best of friends, united by a shared passion and a history that will always connect us.
Well done to every single dancer from Chelmsford Dance Centre. Your talent, teamwork, and sportsmanship shone through. You made us proud—not just in your dancing, but in the way you represented CDC and honoured the special relationship we have with SDC. Here’s to many more years of friendship, collaboration, and unforgettable moments together!
