Phil Meacham

Your Host

Phil Promo Pic 2020.png

Phil has been immersed in the glamorous world of dance since the tender age of 4, with family memories of him joyfully grasping the dropped front of an old-fashioned Radiogram while wiggling his diaper-clad bottom. It's safe to say he's always been a natural performer, in addition to excelling as a professional dancer.

From those early days, his career has blossomed, encompassing roles as a radio presenter for the BBC and various television appearances, ranging from children's programs to the satirical gem "A Comic Strip Presents..." on Channel 4. This diverse background has uniquely qualified him to be a dynamic dance event host, these days also doing work as an after-dinner speaker.

His experience in dance hosting spans from intimate gatherings to the grand National Championships, with each event offering its own distinct flavour. The truth is, you can never predict exactly what will unfold when Phil takes the reins, but one thing's for sure: it will always be an enjoyable and entertaining experience!

Lesley Dodd

I began my journey in ballet practically as soon as I could walk, though I didn't delve into ballroom and Latin dance until I turned 8. Attending Italia Conti stage school became my full-time commitment from the age of 11. During my junior years, I achieved numerous victories in competitive dance, complemented by roles in TV and film as a child actor. Breaking into the professional dance scene at just 17 was unconventional at the time. I embarked on a global adventure, dancing professionally in Germany with Michael Hull, the youngest pros worldwide. My career continued to flourish, from winning UK disco championships to performing on cruise ships for 7 years, exploring the world's dance floors. Alongside my professional journey, I shared the stage with luminaries such as tap dancer Ruby Keeler, Jr from Dallas, stars from Blue Peter, Len Goodman, Bruce Forsyth, Charlie Dimmock, among others. My path led me to the USA, where I graced Broadway and the West End before returning home to establish a thriving dance studio in Eltham with my ex-husband. Transitioning into coaching, I honed the skills of numerous formation teams to victory. Today, I am honored to hold the title of Fellow of IDTA and serve as an examiner and international adjudicator in the world of dance.
